根据英国BBC的消息，如果校方和工会的最终谈判破裂，整个英国共有61所大学将面临为期14天的罢工。
好端端的，为啥要闹罢工呢?究其原因，是因为英国大学校长委员会(UUK)，准备对现有的英国大学养老金计划(Universities Superannuation Scheme)进行改革，以填补英国大学的资金缺口。这就引发了61所英国大学的教职员工的强烈不满，因为所谓的改革很可能导致许多交织人员在退休后损失上万英镑的收入。
英国留学英国养老金计划，USS，本是固定收益计划。也就是说，每个退休的教职人员将在退休后按月领取退休金。
但最近，校长委员会因为该项目的赤字严重，决定将USS转成分配型的养老计划。说白了，就是要把养老金放到股票市场上被交易。根据第三方的评估，这将影响到68所大学的教职工的退休收入，很可能缩水20万镑。
因此，英国大学工会发起了罢工的投票。
英国留学其中，61所大学投出赞成票。包括牛津大学，剑桥大学，帝国理工学院，伦敦大学学院，爱丁堡大学，格拉斯哥大学，华威大学，约克大学，都将受到此次罢工的影响。如果校方和工会最后的谈判破裂，罢工将于2月22日开始。
这么大阵仗，看来事情闹得很大。BBC报道称，在罢工期间，这些院校将暂停所有计划中的考试日程、停止发放作业、评分和反馈意见。这意味着，参加罢工的教师也不会再给学生布置作业。当然，也可能大家提交的offer也会被搁置。还是希望大家最好不要闹僵，让学校回复正常的运作。
